The College makes no claims regarding starting salaries, graduate incomes or job availabilities for any position. Many College graduates and employers have provided the College with their own statements about their experiences in the industries we represent after graduating from the College. Many of these positions were obtained with the help of our Career Development Department and employer contacts within the industries we represent. “This is not an implied or expressed claim of what all of our graduates earn. Individual results may vary and be higher or lower than these figures”. The terms "current occupation" and "current income" as used below apply to the date each testimonial was provided by the graduate to the College and may or may not be their current occupation or income level at this time. Also, the College assumes that in many cases the graduate is providing general figures or income levels rounded off for discussion purposes and the income levels reported, before or after College training, should not be interpreted as EXACT amounts earned monthly since many of the positions listed below, before or after CAM training, are commission based and total incomes could vary from month to month. Jeff Coxen Previous Occupation: Car Salesperson Current Occupation: Special Finance Manager
"I am currently working at Landmark Ford in Tigard, Oregon. I have been working here for four months; I am the special Finance Manager. I like it here very much because I am free to run my department the way I see fit. I am provided the tools to do this and I work with a very strong and respectable crew. The dealership has an unusually strong reputation which is really nice. The dealership has very good inventory, and a great pay plan and benefits!" -Jeff Coxen Special Finance Manager Amber Byers Previous Occupation: Sales Representative Current Occupation: Finance Manager
“After I graduated I went back to the dealership that I had been working at prior to coming to The College of Automotive Management. My dealership told me that they would consider me for a finance position. After only three months of working in the Sales Department the General Manager, a College of Automotive Management graduate, promoted me to Finance Manager. I am now a full time Finance Manager for one of the biggest Auto Groups in the Inland Empire.” -Amber Finance Manager
Previous Occupation: Car Salesperson Previous Income: $3,000 per month Current Occupation: Sales Manager Current Income: $9,000+ per month
"With tears in my eyes and my heart filled with excitement and gratitude I tell you today that I am the very proud to be New Car Sales Manager at a Ford dealership in Texas. After I had finished the course I was filled with a newfound sense of confidence and accomplishment. I went on about 12 interviews and almost every single interview was so impressed with me, but unfortunately they did not have any openings at the time. But I never gave up. I took a job as a Sales Representative at a Toyota dealership to gain some more experience and to pay the bills. However, I took this as a great opportunity and continued to prospect dealers knowing with confidence that I could do the job better than anyone else, thanks to The College of Automotive Management. I told my wife and sons, “I will be a Manager, maybe not today or tomorrow but I will not give up.” And I didn’t. One day, I went to a Ford dealership and was almost turned down instantly because I had a somewhat troubled past. Not to go into too many details, I just want to state that I have experienced many hardships in my life and with the love and support of my family, I have turned myself around, I was tired of being a failure and gaining an education was the last step in my transformation. The GSM finally extended me an interview and was totally blown away with my drive to succeed and the confidence that I acquired from The College of Automotive Management. He made an appointment with me for the next day to meet with him, the dealership director, and the owner. I went prepared with my College of Automotive Management curriculum and I said to both of them I can do the job better than anyone and I can prove it. So just give me an opportunity to do so. The next day I received a call and now here I am sharing with you, that I am the New Car Sales Manager. Wait there’s more. The GSM told me he likes my voice and would like me to participate in doing commercials for the dealership. How about that? Thanks to The College of Automotive Management, I am now going to be on TV. There is one more thing, I’m in charge and responsible for the hiring of any new employees so I am looking for salespeople, so keep your ears open for any graduates who are coming in from Texas, as we are going to definitely be asking for your guy’s help. Thank you all, I would have never had the confidence or the courage to pursue such endeavors but the knowledge that I have learned from The College of Automotive Management has given me this ability. God willing, someday I will be able to fly back to California and thank you all in person. I used to make $3,000 a month; now, I make over $9,000 a month. This year I will make over $72,000 more than the maximum I have ever earned in a year.”

Previous Occupation: Restaurant Business Current Occupation: Fleet Manager
"I was helping my friend start a restaurant business and was the Admin/HR Manager before I came to The College of Automotive Management. I had 18 years of automotive experience in the Philippines and really wanted to get back into that industry. When I arrived here in the US three years ago, I realized there is a big difference in the selling process and legalities, and I felt that all of my experiences were not enough because the culture is different. When I attended The College of Automotive Management, my plan was to go back to the auto industry to have the opportunity to make unlimited income for myself and be confident in whatever position I hold within a dealership. After graduating, I applied for several Finance Manager positions but after awhile I decided to first sell cars, so I could get really familiar with the sales process. So, now I am a Fleet Manager for a local Toyota store. I apply what I have learned to my work everyday and from time to time I still open my notes to refresh my memory of all the information that I have acquired from The College of Automotive Management. The most important thing to me aside from the knowledge is the professionalism that had been instilled in me by the school. Knowledge is power and for anyone to be able to use this knowledge, they have to stay focused, and dedicated in this course. They should have the desire to enrich their life and know that if they do something to enhance their capabilities, then goals are achievable.

“I was working as a Floor Manager for a Nissan dealership and I was surfing on the Internet in Pennsylvania when I came upon The College of Automotive Management’s website. When I read that they train for career opportunities in the automotive industry for managerial positions, they had me. I came to The College of Automotive Management and discovered a new world in the way of education. I have a Master’s Degree and I am sorry to say that it doesn’t even compare to what I received from The College of Automotive Management. Three months after I graduated, I returned to sales and a little after three months I was promoted to GSM! I even set up our dealership’s Special Finance Department! My income quadrupled overnight! I had to go a long way to receive this education, the other side of the United States, but it was well worth it!”

Previous Occupation: Truck Driver Previous Income: $3,500 per month Current Occupation: Finance Manager Current Income: $10,000 per month
"I had worked briefly as an automotive salesperson for about 2 months, but did very poorly because I didn't speak or understand English very well and I had no training or skills. So I worked as a Truck Driver to pay the bills. 3 years later, I found out about the College of Automotive Management and knew this was the answer. Because of my English skills, it was tough for me to understand the curriculum at first, but the instructors were great and put in extra time with me to help me understand. When I graduated, I felt very confident with my skills. I even felt confident enough to interview at luxury stores which is where I wanted to work but didn't feel I would qualify before I went to The College of Automotive Management. I was hired at South Bay Mercedes as a Salesperson. I became top salesperson my second month! I then went to Power Volvo and have been promoted to Finance Manager because of the skills I learned through The College. I cannot believe how much my income and my life have changed. Thank you College of Automotive Management!

Previous Occupation: Automotive Sales Previous Income: $4,000 per month Current Occupation: Finance Manager Current Income: $6,800 per month
"I had sold cars previously for 3-4 years making about $3 - 5K per month before coming to The College of Automotive Management. I heard about The College of Automotive Management through a friend and also research over the internet. I attended the program and it gave me a much better foundation than my previous experience. I found it was also beneficial in other areas outside my profession as well. After I graduated, I was hired as an F&I Manager for a dealership in Tustin, but due to the commute I worked for a local dealership with the goal of promoting to Finance. After a year, I was promoted to Finance and have doubled my income. I would recommend The College of Automotive Management, it provides a great foundation to be successful in the automotive industry."

Previous Income: $2-3,000 per month Current Occupation: Special Finance Manager Current Income: $5-$6,000 per month
“I came to The College of Automotive Management because a friend of mine was making a killing in the RV industry after graduating from The College of Automotive Management a little less than a year ago. He is currently averaging $25K a month! I was doing well as a Sales Representative, but after talking with my friend as he shared his experiences at The College of Automotive Management and how much it had affected his life, I knew that if it had been so positive for him that maybe I would be able to experience some of the same successes that he had. I went back to selling RV’s after I graduated waiting until I could position myself for a Finance Manager opportunity. I have been in an unusual position for 2 months now. I am the sub-prime F&I Manager at a RV dealership in the Inland Empire. I am using all the skills I learned in school and I have to say that The College of Automotive Management has given me the ammunition I need to fight the war! I am prepared to handle anything, anyone and any credit situation and soon hope that I will be able to give another College of Automotive Management graduate, a certain friend of mine, a run for his money. Going to The College of Automotive Management is like being at home; everyone is on your team and will do everything humanly possible to help you in any way possible.”

UPDATE June 2007
Sometimes I just have to smile about where I am now. Not long ago I was working as a debt collector and manager of a Radio Shack. I entered the automotive business selling RVs and did that for a couple of years making about $70,000 a year. Not a bad income! I knew I was capable of more and saw how much the people working in F&I were making so I decided to go to the College of Automotive Management to get an education in finance. That was one of the best decisions I have ever made. After graduation I worked for the Henderson group as an F&I Manager. I left there after 1 year to re-enter the RV business which I had experience in before attending CAM. Now a year and one half later I am making over $150,000 a year as an F&I Manger for McMahan RV. Not bad for a 24 year old former hockey player!!

“Before enrolling as a student with The College of Automotive Management, I was a struggling college student who sold cars while attending school. I had never really thought of the car business as a career, but more of an opportunity to work and make more than minimum wage while I was in school. After all, my goal was originally to go to Law School and I intended to get there. However, after building a close relationship with a finance manager, I was intrigued by the job and the monetary successes that the finance manger boasted of. After 6 months of selling cars without any formal training, and endless days of striving to make rent, I took a leap on faith and decided to go to finance school and consider the automotive business as a career for me. The College of Automotive Management was so helpful. I lived too far to commute so the college hooked me up with a great hotel where I could attend to my studies more and not worry about the long commute. Exactly one week after graduating I had an interview with the regional director of a nationwide automotive company which was provided by The College of Automotive Management. After a 2 hour interview, I was hired on the spot and started the following Monday. I was offered a $5,000.00 base salary while I was in training floating from store to store throughout LA County. Later I decided the corporate world of automotive financing was not for me and I preferred to be at a dealership that was smaller and more flexible. My income has more than doubled since my training at The College of Automotive Management. After 8 months of working at my first finance job, I resigned and took a month off to enjoy my life. Soon enough I was back at work again, but this time with a smaller, family-owned company closer to my home. Now, I run a one-man (or woman) finance department, handling everything from selling back-end products to getting funding on every vehicle my dealership sells. More importantly, in about a year, after we get our new building and sell more cars, my title will turn into “Finance Director,” which was my goal from the very beginning! And I am only 20 years old! All that training paid off, deciding to go into finance changed my life and I wouldn’t be anywhere near to where I am without The College of Automotive Management.”
