Many College graduates and employers have provided the College with their own statements about their experiences in the industries we represent after graduating from the College. Many of these positions were obtained with the help of our Career Development Department and employer contacts within the industries we represent. “This is not an implied or expressed claim of what all of our graduates earn. Individual results may vary and be higher or lower than these figures”. The terms "current occupation" and "current income" as used below apply to the date each testimonial was provided by the graduate to the College and may or may not be their current occupation or income level at this time. Also, the College assumes that in many cases the graduate is providing general figures or income levels rounded off for discussion purposes and the income levels reported, before or after College training, should not be interpreted as EXACT amounts earned monthly since many of the positions listed below, before or after CAM training, are commission based and total incomes could vary from month to month.

"I am now in my second month as an Internet Salesperson. The first month I was here I trained for about 2 weeks before I was added to the lead pipeline full time. In those 2 weeks in February, traditionally a very slow month, I sold 7.5 cars. I thought that was a good start since I had never sold a car before that but I had no idea what was to come. I started March, my first full month of sales, and sold 2 in the first 2 days of the month. By March 10 I had 9 cars out, the highest in a store of approximately 40 salespeople (and the highest volume Toyota dealership in a region of 5 states) and I was the top guy at the first sales meeting of the month! "With tears in my eyes and my heart filled with excitement and gratitude I tell you today that I am the very proud to be New Car Sales Manager at a Ford dealership in Texas. After I had finished the course I was filled with a newfound sense of confidence and accomplishment. I went on about 12 interviews and almost every single interview was so impressed with me, but unfortunately they did not have any openings at the time. But I never gave up. There is one more thing, I’m in charge and responsible for the hiring of any new employees so I am looking for salespeople, so keep your ears open for any graduates who are coming in from Texas, as we are going to definitely be asking for your guy’s help. "When I graduated from The College of Automotive Management, I got a job within one week of graduation as a Finance Manager for the Number 1 Motorhome Dealership in Northern California. What makes it especially nice is that for the first time in 15 years, I am actually working in the town I live. It's real nice having only a ten minute commute to work. I've been with the company for 10 months now and the income is what I expected. My first month I made $5,000 and I was very happy to at least make that. The next month, $7,500, the next $8,400...These last two months, I've made over $9,000 in each month. My best month so far was $11,500.What I took with me from The College of Automotive Management and still use every day is being legally compliant. With every contract signing (10 signatures) I still use the very same legal language I was taught. When the other Finance Managers have gotten themselves in some "hot water" over what was said, I am always confident that what I say in the Finance office is not only correct, but ethically and legally sound. For this reason, the GM of our dealership has expressed his gratitude that I am in his Finance office. “I have been in the Automotive Industry for over 20 years and found that as a woman in this business, women in general do very well. I had never really thought of the car business as a career, but more of an opportunity to work and make more than minimum wage while I was in school. After all, my goal was originally to go to Law School and I intended to get there. However, after building a close relationship with a finance manager, I was intrigued by the job and the monetary successes that the finance manger boasted of. After 6 months of selling cars without any formal training, and endless days of striving to make rent, I took a leap on faith and decided to go to finance school and consider the automotive business as a career for me. The College of Automotive Management was so helpful. I lived too far to commute so the college hooked me up with a great hotel where I could attend to my studies more and not worry about the long commute. Exactly one week after graduating I had an interview with the regional director of a nationwide automotive company which was provided by The College of Automotive Management. After a 2 hour interview, I was hired on the spot and started the following Monday. I was offered a $5000.00 base salary while I was in training floating from store to store throughout LA County. Later I decided the corporate world of automotive financing was not for me and I preferred to be at a dealership that was smaller and more flexible. My income has more than doubled since my training at The College of Automotive Management. After 8 months of working at my first finance job, I resigned and took a month off to enjoy my life. Soon enough I was back at work again, but this time with a smaller, family-owned company closer to my home. “I was working for a collections company when they eliminated my position and I knew I had to make a career change. I am leading numbers in the back end, which makes me feel great since I am new here. I have found that sales is my calling. I did have the opportunity to work Finance but I decided now is not the right time as I love selling and the hours are better for me in sales. "My name is Ernesto, I am 20 years old and I am a recent graduate from the College of Automotive Management. Within the first week after I had graduated, the placement department set me up with a lead to a dealership that they had built a strong relationship with. Being that I was so young, I thought I would have a very difficult time finding a position as I did not have a lot of work experience and had zero automotive experience. I called the dealerships and set up an interview two days after I had graduated. I interviewed for the position, was presented an offer and was hired all in one day! I couldn’t believe it! Sometimes I just have to smile about where I am now. Not long ago I was working as a debt collector and manager of a Radio Shack. “After graduating from The College of Automotive Management I was hired as a Special Finance Salesperson at Sunrise Ford in North Hollywood. I used the scripts I learned at the College especially the one that says “the more you put down the more you will save….” I was so successful using these techniques that within 6 months the boss let me start doing my own deals and within 4 months of that I was a manager and had 3 people working for me. I was making about $11,000 a month. 2 years later I was hired as a Sales Manager at Manhattan Beach Toyota. Talk about a change!! Now most of my customers had great credit and knew what they wanted. I just used the scripts and methods I learned at the College to continue my success. I left that position after about a year and a half to accept a job as an F&I Manager at Douglas Nissan. I enjoy the F&I business, you get to deal with so many different personalities and utilize all of your interpersonal skills to find out what the customer really wants and needs. You use different methods of overcoming objections depending upon the personality type of your customer. “After graduating from The College of Automotive Management in 1992, I immediately went to work as a Special Finance Manager and my income immediately increased to six figures per year. I was then promoted to Finance Director and then to Sales Manager where my responsibilities and income continued to increase. After seven years of management I realized the that being a Sales Representative had the best pay plan, the most control over my schedule and so I established my own Sales Department within a dealership which focused on helping people with credit issues, people who owed too much on their trade in, or people that the store couldn’t help through their traditional sales process. This is the highest paying position that I have held in the car business."

"Before coming to the College I worked for an hourly wage selling Granite Kitchen Countertops, not making much money. I had never received any training in sales but I find selling cars a lot easier. This is because of the training I received at The College of Automotive Management where I learned to overcome customer objections. The Sales Script I learned was a "GOD SEND". One of the sales veterans of 11 years has even copied some of my responses because he sees how well they work!! This is a small dealership (80 cars a month) but I am already exceeding my income by more than $1,000.00 per month and I took time off last month to spend with my husband who is being redeployed.
