The CAM Difference!! The College makes no claims regarding starting salaries, graduate incomes or job availabilities for any position. Many College graduates and employers have provided the College with their own statements about their experiences in the industries we represent after graduating from the College. “ I worked for my family’s convenience store prior to attending CAM. After I graduated from the College I immediately went to work at an employer partner of CAM’s in their Sales Department. Because of my training in special finance I was given all of the sales leads that had credit issues and within two months I was the top Sales Representative. Eight months later I was promoted to Special Finance Manager and six months after that my current dealership hired me as their Finance Director to oversee all of the regular and special finance departments. My family can’t believe it and they are all so proud of me. Majdi A.
Frank R. “Every time I share my story I can’t help but get a little choked up. To go from making less than $22,000 a year and having to move my family back home to live with my mother was how my life was before coming through the College. I am now a Finance Manager and make over $100,000 per year and the idea of it all still astounds me. And to think I was so dead set against even coming here. A fishing trip with a couple of alumni from the College ended up convincing me that it would be a great way for me to provide for my family. I am making more money than I expected to see in my lifetime and I never even had to sell a car. I am so happy that I can’t even express in words how much this has affected my life. I did something that made me so afraid, I jumped in with both feet and never looked back.” Frank R.
Alee R. “My story is kind of a unique one. I actually became interested in the College because I was working as the receptionist for the school. I had just obtained my Bachelor’s degree from DeVry University and was entering into a very compacted job market. I worked for the College for a little less than a year before I decided to go through the program. I decided that I wanted to become a Finance Manager due to the success stories I was hearing and seeing from other graduates and that it seemed that everyone was getting higher paying jobs with less traditional education than me. After I graduated I worked very briefly as a Sales Representative before accepting a position as the Special Finance/Internet Manager at a Used Car Dealership, specializing in hi-line vehicles. I learned how to combine my special finance training and internet management training to where I am now making 9K a month! I am currently preparing to buy a house here in California and I am only 22.” Alee R.
Ryan R. “I had sold cars very briefly before I chose to go into the Aerospace Industry. Quite a leap for me but nevertheless I was happy. Well, the Aerospace Industry took a nose dive and I was left out in the cold. I knew I had to decide what my new career would be, I just hadn’t decided what. I went through the school and ended up on the express lane to management. I was recruited for a Sales Manager position for a dealership in the Inland Empire. After only two months they promoted me again to Finance Manager! I had heard horror stories of people waiting years to be promoted to these positions, with me it was a matter of weeks. I now work for a Used Car Dealership in Texas and am the Used Car Director. I have seen my income increase threefold and would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for CAM. I am hoping that CAM will expand enough to have a secondary level of training for Owners, I would be their first student.” Ryan R.
“ I love my new position as the Special Finance Manager. I am in charge of my own department. Everything I learned in class has played a huge part in my success; from desking deals, payment to income, debt to income, and analyzing credit reports. Everything we went over in class has come up in one way or another. I will say that the relationships that you build with your buyers is extremely important. It is amazing what your buyers will let you do if you just ask. I use Dealertrack to submit my applications and always submit the proper structure, it can make or break a deal! If I get an instant decline, I already know my guidelines well enough and pick up the phone and call my buyer to rehash. I stand strongly by the fact that if you believe in the products, you can sell them! I am extremely happy and couldn’t be more excited about what I am doing. Mary D.
“My life has changed in just the last two months. Two months ago I didn’t have a driver’s license, wasn’t making more than $2,000 a month as a waiter and was going nowhere fast. I saw an ad in the local paper about training people for management positions within the lending and automotive industries. I knew I had to make something of my life, so I decided to call. I will never forget what I told my career counselor, I said that I was tired of being a screw up! He knew I was serious about changing my life so I signed up for the program. The entire CAM staff was great and was behind me all the way. They knew I was serious about studying hard, changing my life, and making a career for myself, not just another job. Before I had even graduated I received job leads from the Career Development Department and had interviews set. Within a week, I landed a F&I Manager position for a Lincoln Mercury dealership where I am making $5,000 a month with just my base salary plus, I earn commissions and bonuses and this was just to start! This is more than twice the amount of money I had ever made. I love what I am doing and want to say that the College of Automotive Management and everyone there is great. I will always be grateful for the change this education has brought to my life.” Sean G.
Stephanie C. “I was working in the sporting goods industry as an Account Manager when it came time for my cost of living raise. I was insulted at the amount and felt that this was no longer a sufficient means of income for me and my family. I happened to be building a fire in my fireplace when I looked down and saw a crumpled ad for the College of Automotive Management. I saw the ad and knew that this is what I wanted to do. I was pretty much already sold on the program before I called and was even more determined after I had spoken with my Career Counselor. I am proud to say that I now work as a Finance Manger and my life has changed tremendously. My income has more than tripled to over six figures a year and I was able to purchase a new car and a brand new house! I can relax now, knowing that I can supply for my daughters and I am able to afford to send them to the best schools so that they can receive a top notch education. Everything that I learned in the program I have applied. I know that I wouldn’t be where I am today without the College of Automotive Management. It was the best decision I have ever made in my life.” Stephanie C.
Todd C. “My life has changed so drastically after graduating from CAM. I went from working as a Photographer and Sales Associate for a camera/video store to now making over $16,000 a month as a F&I Manager for a RV dealership. I work out in the desert and commute back to my brand new house I just purchased in Orange County. Life is great! The RV season is coming soon and that’s when business will pick up even more. I have already been able to do a great deal for my mom and am so thankful that I have chosen this industry. I am hopeful that the College will open another branch so that I can come and be an instructor, to share with others the great opportunity that has been bestowed upon me.” Todd C.
Calvin L. “I can’t thank everyone enough for the training, support, and direction that the College has given me. I’m so happy to say that I have found my niche. As an Englishman who has come to America the years of work have been difficult. Going through the school has allowed me to work for such a great mortgage company. And I’m lovin’ it. I work with great people and I am making great money, I made more in one month than I made in last year. Life couldn’t be better. Once again, I have to thank the College for steering me in this direction. I could not have done it without you.” Calvin L.
“As concept cars designer, I changed lanes and began selling cars. After I graduated from the College of Automotive Management, I went into the RV industry. I was hired by Saddleback RV as a Finance Manager, and then promoted to Finance Director. I made it to No. 1 at a Dealer 20 Group as Best Finance Manager.” Mike J.
Darious T. “I was a student from USC and I wanted to go into an industry that would best benefit and fulfill my needs. I felt that the automotive industry was the best fit as there seemed to be no cap on the amount of money you could be making. When I came to CAM I knew little of finance, after I left, I knew all the aspects of how the department worked and had the necessary tools that would help to make me a success. I was hired on as a Finance Manager for a small dealership in Orange County and now work as the Finance Director for a Dealership in Garden Grove”. Darious T.
Patti B. “I have been in the Automotive Industry for over 20 years and found that as a woman in this business, women in general do very well. I had raised my family in this business because I knew that the potential for success was very high. I held a variety of positions for various dealerships and wanted to learn the banking/finance side of the dealership. I thought I knew everything, but CAM taught me things I didn’t even know I was doing wrong with the job I held. After graduating from the course I was hired as a Finance Manager at one of the largest Toyota dealerships in Orange County. This was in less than a week. I saw my income increase to more than $40,000 a year from where it was the year prior. I now work as a Sales Manager for a Nissan dealership and hire CAM graduates frequently. I know that CAM graduates will be well trained and will know all the aspects of working in a major dealership as they are trained in the most important components of the industry and are kept up to date with the newest laws and regulations. I can’t speak highly enough about the benefits of an education from the College of Automotive Management.” Patti B.
Primo M. “I have over 8 years of experience in the car business and I knew with the education I had received from CAM that I would get a job making a very good income. After graduating, I became sick and had to have surgery. I was out of commission for three months. The placement department called me continuously, checking in on me to see how I was doing and when I would be ready to go back to work. The first lead they gave me, I landed the position! I work as a finance manager and just had the owner come up to me to compliment me on my flawless paperwork and full disclosures. The other Finance Manager doesn’t even know half of what I do!” Primo M.
Eric A. “After graduating from the College in 1992, I immediately went to work as a Special Finance Manager and my income immediately increased to six figures per year. I was then promoted to Finance Director and then to Sales Manager where my responsibilities and income continued to increase. After seven years of management I realized the that being a Sales Representative had the best pay plan, the most control over their schedules and so I established my own Sales Department within a dealership which focused on helping people with credit issues, people who owed too much on their trade in, or people that the store couldn’t help through their traditional sales process. This is the highest paying position that I have held in the car business. Eric A.
Dean M. “I was working in the sporting goods industry for a number of years and my wife was in the Automotive Industry. As I got closer to her boss, he convinced me to go to the College of Automotive Management and make a change in my life. Afterwards, I became a F&I Manager and am doing great. It has greatly impacted my life in a positive manner. I am able to help other people and it has also given me a financial leap. I moved from a tiny house into a big beautiful home. The College has definitely allowed for me to have some spectacular opportunities!” Dean M.
“I was working as a Floor Manager for a Nissan dealership and I was surfing on the Internet in Pennsylvania when I came upon the College of Automotive Management’s website. When I read that they train for career opportunities in the automotive industry for managerial positions, they had me. I came to CAM and discovered a new world in the way of education. I have a Master’s Degree and I am sorry to say that it doesn’t even compare to what I received from CAM. Three months after I graduated, I returned to sales and a little after three months I was promoted to GSM! I even set up our dealership’s Special Finance Department! My income quadrupled overnight! I had to go a long way to receive this education, the other side of the United States, but it was well worth it!”
Lindsay H. “Before enrolling as a student with the College of Automotive Management, I was a struggling college student who sold cars while attending school. I had never really thought of the car business as a career, but more of an opportunity to work and make more than minimum wage while I was in school. After all, my goal was originally to go to Law School and I intended to get there. However, after building a close relationship with a finance manager, I was intrigued by the job and the monetary successes that the finance manger boasted of. After 6 months of selling cars without any formal training, and endless days of striving to make rent, I took a leap on faith and decided to go to finance school and consider the automotive business as a career for me. The college was so helpful. I lived too far to commute so the college hooked me up with a great hotel where I could attend to my studies more and not worry about the long commute. Exactly one week after graduating I had an interview with the regional director of a nationwide automotive company which was provided by the College. After a 2 hour interview, I was hired on the spot and started the following Monday. I was offered a $5000.00 base salary while I was in training floating from store to store throughout LA County. Later I decided the corporate world of automotive financing was not for me and I preferred to be at a dealership that was smaller and more flexible. My income has more than doubled since my training at the College. After 8 months of working at my first finance job, I resigned and took a month off to enjoy my life. Soon enough I was back at work again, but this time with a smaller, family-owned company closer to my home. Now, I run a one-man (or woman) finance department, handling everything from selling back-end products to getting funding on every vehicle my dealership sells. More importantly, in about a year, after we get our new building and sell more cars, my title will turn into “Finance Director,” which was my goal from the very beginning! And I am only 20 years old! All that training paid off, deciding to go into finance changed my life and I wouldn’t be anywhere near to where I am without the College of Automotive Management.” Lindsay H.
“I was working for a collections company when they eliminated my position and I knew I had to make a career change. A friend informed me about the college and I decided that this would be a great field to get into. After graduating I was presented with a lead for a tent sale and thought it would be good experience as I had never been in the car industry before. I was the only person in my class willing to accept the opportunity. The General Manager told me that he would never hire anyone into a Finance position without any experience. He was so impressed with my performance at the tent sale, that he informed me that he had a Finance Manager position open and would like me to take the position. This was after he told me that he would never hire anyone without any automotive experience. I had knocked his socks off as he would say to me. Within two months I had the highest gross profit average and shortly thereafter I doubled my per car average more than the department was doing before I had arrived.” Aisha R.
Cody D. “I came to the College of Automotive Management because a friend of mine was making a killing in the RV industry after graduating from CAM a little less than a year ago. He is currently averaging $25K a month! I was doing well as a Sales Representative, but after talking with my friend as he shared his experiences at the College and how much it had affected his life; I knew that if it had been so positive for him that maybe I would be able to experience some of the same successes that he had. I went back to selling RV’s after I graduated waiting until I could position myself for a Finance Manager opportunity. I have been in an unusual position for 2 months now. I am the sub-prime F&I Manager at a RV dealership in the Inland Empire. I am using all the skills I learned in school and I have to say that CAM has given me the ammunition I need to fight the war! I am prepared to handle anything, anyone and any credit situation and soon hope that I will be able to give another CAM graduate, a certain friend of mine, a run for his money. Going to CAM is like being at home; everyone is on your team and will do everything humanly possible to help you in any way possible.” Cody D.
Lloyd A. JR. “Prior to attending CAM I worked as a Collector and the swing shift in a steel mill. After training with CAM I moved to Nevada to be closer to my wife’s family. I wanted to work in a successful store so I started in Sales at one of the largest Dodge dealerships in the state. I was not the top Sales Representative but I was consistent. I was making three times the amount of money than with my previous occupations. A little after six months I was promoted to Finance Manager where I was number one in my department, I attribute this to my education and training from CAM because of my ability to structure deals and understand each bank’s loan program. I was then promoted to Sales Manager where I train and oversee all of the Desk Managers at a store that sells over 700 units a month. My wife and I live in a $1,000,000 house and have a great life.” Lloyd A. JR
Jamie T. “The College of Automotive Management opened more doors for me than I ever thought possible, and put me on a whole new track, both personally and professionally.” Jamie T.
“I worked at an Automotive Business Office for 11 years, and while I enjoyed my work, I knew I was capable of handling greater responsibility. It was a tough decision to invest in my education, but one that I needed to do to improve my life and secure a better future for my family. I was earning $2,700 at my old job, and wanted to be able to provide a top-notch education for my children. I am doing that now. I was hired a couple of weeks after graduation by a Finance Director who was also a CAM graduate. Today, as a Finance Manager at a Honda store, I am earning as much as $11,500 per month and do not have to rely on anyone to take care of my family. That’s a great feeling. And what’s just as important, I love what I do.” Susan R.
Lisa P. “I was an admissions representative at a vocational school when I decided to change my life. I was earning less than $3,500 a month, and I knew I was worth more than that. I attended CAM, and am now making around $6,000 a month as a Finance Manager. I’m enjoying my new career!” Lisa P.
“I was an Office Manager at the College of Automotive Management and kept seeing people enroll in the school, graduate, and then get great-paying jobs. I knew that becoming an F&I Manager would greatly increase my income, so I enrolled in the school, too. Today I’m doing very well, and I enjoy my job.” Sophia P.
“I made $2,000 a month in my previous job. CAM's Placement Department found me a position. Now, after only two months, I am making more than $4,000 a month. I project the annual difference will be well over $35,000 a year from my previous job.” Nadia S.
David K. “Before attending CAM, I was new to the Automotive industry but very eager to get started. I was hired the same week I graduated from CAM and started at a Nissan store, the following Monday. First day on the job, I sold my first car, making more than $700 on that deal. In only 6 days, I made $2,500! I'm able to get big profits because I believe in the art of "Selling Myself" before selling my products, just like I learned in CAM. I'm currently an Internet Manager. I expect to continue the Internet Manager position for a few more months, and then move into the Finance position I have my mind set on. I'm almost there.” David K.
George E. “I used to make $3,000 a month; now, I make over $9,000 a month. This year I will make over $72,000 more than the maximum I have ever earned in a year.” George E.
Kyle H. “First off, I must thank you for changing my life. Since I graduated from College of Automotive Management everything has improved. I was given the job as Finance Manager at a Chevrolet store upon returning to Washington State and have been working here since. Since my start I have been the number one producing manager out of three, producing half of all F and I income in our dept. School really taught me the fundamental’s to succeed and through this my name has reached other dealerships that have offered wonderful opportunities. School was a blessing, allowing me to change my life for the best. Thank you and everyone at The College of Automotive Management.” Kyle H.
